I hope someday I can watch both, but I think for now I'll concentrate on Bergman and her always incredible performances.
Don't forget to read my contribution to the blogathon! :)
Greetings!
http://www.criticaretro.blogspot.com.br/2014/06/garbo-gilbert-mgm-um-triangulo-amoroso.htmlLêhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02419693749682458647noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-556823686640172503.post-1182181079542252122014-07-01T18:34:00.309-07:002014-07-01T18:34:00.309-07:00Gaslight is one of my faves. I agree that it is "first class in every department". Time to see it again!Silver Screeningshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04955048716754142299noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-556823686640172503.post-54673014312295839372014-06-29T09:58:46.065-07:002014-06-29T09:58:46.065-07:00Gaslight is my favourite Cukor film, I think he...Gaslight is my favourite Cukor film, I think he's quite an underrated director. Ingrid Bergman is marvellous too. Sometimes I wish it had been shot in colour - imagine how incredible those costumes and jewels would have looked in technicolour!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-556823686640172503.post-56965119869605533072014-06-27T18:16:34.130-07:002014-06-27T18:16:34.130-07:00Good heavens! I must agree, after seeing both versions, MGM's Gaslight is the superior..and I love how it MGM threw in their same team of Brits in every production that was set in England. Dame May Whitty, Reginald Owen, Alan Napier, Gladys Cooper, etc...they cropped up in them all. Thanks for highlighting a true MGM classic! Gaslight did indeed showcase the studio's most distinguishing qualities during the height of their heyday. The Metzinger Sistershttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10728879307994086409noreply@blogger.com
